Last month, Nokia issued a warning 46 million BL-5C batteries, manufactured by Matsushita between December 2005 and November 2006, were liable to overheat. Customers with a Nokia product containing a BL-5C battery that fits the criteria can request a replacement free of charge.
Nokia head of customer and market operations Robert Andersson said: “Customers safety and the reliability and quality of our products are our top priorities.”
Matsushita Battery president Masatsugu Kondo added: “The two
ompanies are cooperating closely together in this situation.”
