Meanwhile, LG Mobile UK head of marketing Gary Venn (pictured) said the launch of its Viewty handset, which will be free on £35 tariffs from most networks, will be attended by a £5 million advertising campaign – the biggest UK campaign the manufacturer has run.
Venn said the Viewty picks up where the Chocolate and Shine handsets left off, and will be pitched as a fashion phone with top-of-the-range camera functionality. He said LG would target 10 per cent of Christmas handset sales, and was in line to average seven per cent of UK sales during the year. Its sales target will increase to 10 per cent for next year.
