Brightstar and Tesco refused to comment. But sources claimed it was one of Brightstar’s first significant fulfilment deals, as it struggles to gain traction among retailers that put their Christmas handset forecasts and ranges to bed months ago.
One source said: “These V3s are old handsets; they won’t last much beyond the New Year.
“Tesco wanted specific colour variants. It is opportunistic, but fair play to it.”
