The departure 10 months ago of key figures left the scheme’s launch in doubt. Peter Rand was promoted to a European role and John Chancellor, then head of Nokia enhancements, moved to a role at Anovo.
Nokia UK and Ireland senior sales manager for enhancements, Stuart Bruce, said there had been a huge demand for engineers to achieve Nokia accreditation.
While 100 engineers have already passed, 30 more engineers are waiting for their applications to be processed. Applicants must do a written test and complete a training session. There is no revenue share commitment required.
Nokia will only accredit individuals, not companies.
Said Bruce: “These guys will essentially be part of our sales force. Being an accredited Nokia car kit installer gives the customer reassurance that they won’t get ripped off and they will get quality service.
“A Nokia car kit is only as good as the standard of its installation.”
