German manufacturer Jentro has launched ‘MyMobileSatNav’ through Carphone Warehouse in the UK.
Retailing around £39.99, MyMobileSatNav includes a small GPS receiver that connects to the user’s handset via Bluetooth. It delivers door-to-door navigation in either driving or pedestrian mode.
It also offers pan-European information on maps, traffic and speed cameras.
It is compatible with most new Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Motorola phones, both contract and prepay.
MyMobileSatNav comes with an initial offer of one month unlimited UK use, thereafter, customers can either subscribe to unlimited use for £4.99 a month or download individual routes for 79p.
Jentro CEO Hans-Hendrik Puvogel said: “Connected navigation devices are playing a more decisive role. The industry is realising that navigation without internet connection is limited.”
