The shortlist has been draw up by The Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) and media intelligence company Cision. Sarin is one of 10 names on a short list that includes ITV’s Michale Grade, James Murdoch (BskyB) and BT CEO Ben Verwaayen.
The award recognises the CEO of a FTSE 100 company who has used public relations most effectively for the benefit of their organisation since the start of the year. Previous winners include Stelios Haji-Ioannou of easyGroup and Stuart Rose of Marks & Spencer.
Cision consultancy services director Giselle Bodie said: “The Business Communicator of the Year Award underlines the intricate relationship between a CEO’s communication efforts and corporate reputation. Furthermore, it demonstrates that analysing the impact of media coverage should be an inherent part of reputation management for any organisation.”
The winner will be announced at an award ceremony in London next Tuesday.
