Curran quits Yes Telecom

Yes Telecom founder and managing director Keith Curran has left the Manchester-based service provider to join parent company Vodafone.

Curran will be involved in ‘special projects’ at Vodafone. A spokesman clarified: "Keith remains a full time employee of Vodafone, and will be available for special projects."

Yes Telecom sales and marketing director Simon Howitt, commercial and finance director Kevin Wakeley and IT and operation director Ray Bell take control of the business.

Vodafone bought Yes Telecom in May 2006.

Yes Telecom dealers expressed concern at news of Curran’s departure. "He is Mr Yes Telecom," said one dealer. "He lived and breathed Yes, and its identity was completely tied up with him. When Vodafone bought it, it always said it would leave Yes alone. We’ll have to see who replaces him, and whether there will be much change."
