International calling firm WorldSIM has been shortlisted for the Business Travel Show Innovation Awards, announced at the Business Travel Show next week.
The awards aim to recognise business travel suppliers who have created innovative products, services and processes for buyers, travellers or other suppliers in the last 12 months.
WorldSIM provides communication services enabling business and leisure travellers to save money and claims its resellers can earn lifelong commissions. It has 250 global MVNO agreements as well as relationships with all the UK networks. Additional services are provided by Isle of Man-based service provider Manx Telecom.
WorldSIM offers a prepay global roaming SIM which allows travellers to receive calls free on their mobile. Outbound call costs start at 25p a minute.
WorldSIM claims it can save users up to 95 per cent on their mobile bills when they travel. Other features include free roaming in 55 countries, including all of Europe, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Australia and Egypt, as well as coverage in 150 countries. The user receives a UK number, free voicemail, conference calling facility, auto top-up and 24 hour customer service.
The company is also looking to mobile dealers to become resellers of the product, offering commissions to the tune of up to 50 per cent of the initial sale, and a further 10 per cent each time a customer tops up. Online prices for WorldSIM start at £35, with £10 calling credit included.
Resellers also have the opportunity to become an independent distributor. They need to buy a minimum of 6,000 WorldSIM cards that can be branded with the reseller’s logo. The reseller will also get a branded homepage into the WorldSIM web portal as well as a commission on call traffic.
WorldSIM UK commercial director Arif Reza said: “One sale can generate a lifetime of commission for agents. Dealers can sell existing mobile contracts and sell this on top to continuously share in customer call costs.”
