A colourful array of participants dressed as superheroes and cartoon characters converged on Battersea Park for the 5km fun run, fronted by Samsung UK and Ireland vice president Mark Mitchinson.

A gala dinner at Bluebird in Chelsea attracted celebrities such as Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding and Chelsea footballer Joe Cole, along with mobile industry names such as Chris Jones, Clive Bayley, George McPherson, Andy Tow, Roy Taylor, Trevor Price, Graham Ellerton, Rod Millar, Ian Gillespie, Hugh Roper and John Durkan.

Mitchinson spoke of his mission to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis, following the illness and subsequent death last month of Samsung service manager Richard McGowan, whose young daughter suffers from Cystic Fibrosis.

3’s marketing director John Penberthy-Smith took out the highest bid in the dinner’s charity auction, winning the opportunity for four guests to play an all-star match at Stamford Bridge.

Carphone representatives took home tickets to V Festival and a Samsung media package, including a widescreen television. Phones 4U went away with tickets to see comedian Chris Rock.
