Fonehouse is charging dealers an upfront fee of £5,000 to sign up to its franchise programme.
The retailer claims dealers can drive sales by up to 40 per cent simply by putting its signage above the door and connecting customers via its systems.
So far, eight dealers have signed up to the initiative. Fonehouse expects to have 30 on board by the end of the year, giving the company a brand presence across 60 UK outlets.
Fonehouse commercial manager Daniel Schama said: “Independent dealers will still be running their own business, only under a new name.
“There is a lot of uncertainty out there with consumer sellers at the moment. This could provide a lifeline.”
Fonehouse connects T-Mobile and Orange. Franchisees will receive point of sale material and the benefits of buying stock as part of a bigger retail group.
