SIM-free handset distributor Excalibur has acquired Bristol-based dealership First Call Communications for an undisclosed sum.

First Call hopes to boost its profile in the SME market. It will trade under its existing name and increase its product range to offer BlackBerry web client and enterprise services, IT support and vehicle tracking.

Excalibur managing director Nick Simpson said: “First Call is already an established brand with a strong presence in the consumer market.

“This acquisition will enable Excalibur to increase its presence in the South West and strengthen First Call’s position in the B2B marketplace.”

Excalibur has also just added mobile phone cases to its Fonix accessories range.
