Nokia has awarded three multimillion pound distribution contracts and ‘Nokia Approved Partner’ status as a result of its distribution strategy review.
The pound contracts have been awarded to 20:20 Logistics for devices and services, Data Select for devices, services and accessories and Dextra Solutions for services and accessories. The contracts will commence on July 25.
Nokia UK sales director Mark Loughran said: “We are building a distribution network for the future, capable of delivering both service and products to our traditional and non-traditional retail partners.
“We are very pleased to be able to appoint 20:20, Data Select and Dextra as Nokia Approved Partners. The consideration given to the changing nature of Nokia and our business, and in particular our service offering has been fantastic by these companies and the quality of their response outstanding.
“We are committed to delivering the best mobile experience to the huge number of people who choose Nokia and we have selected partners who are committed to helping us showcase the breadth and depth of the Nokia devices, services and accessory range.”
Nokia Approved Partner status recognises that the supplier is an official distributor of Nokia devices and/or accessories. This status will only be awarded to those suppliers who meet the highest standards and those that will have an ongoing partnership with Nokia UK.
Meanwhile, Nokia will re-tender its B2B distribution agreement as the responses to date did not meet the elements required in the tender process.
Said Loughran: “The process we have undertaken was about choosing the best partners and at this stage, we have not found the right partnership to service our business to business customers. We intend to re-tender immediately.”
