Telecoms provider Mfonex last week acquired West Yorkshire based companies Insight Marketing and Inspire Telecoms for an undisclosed fee, as the business prepares to launch its Topaz Mobile service.

Mfonex provides mobile, landline and broadband services. It also runs credit checks. It said it will work with the two companies to help further expand it’s brand and marketing capabilities.

The move coincides with Mfonex’s decision to re-locate the bulk of its offices from Oxford to West Yorkshire.

Mfonex chairman Chris Caudle said: "Acquiring these companies is fantastic news for Mfonex. We have been looking at them both for some time and have been impressed with what they have to offer."

Inspire Telecoms founder Jamie Greaves said: "Being part of Mfonex gives me further confidence and support to develop the Inspire Telecom service providing to the Mfonex client base."

A spokespersonfor Insight Marketing said: "This is a great opportunity to further establish ourselves as a logistics and telemarketing company, and we are delighted to be working with Mfonex."

Caudle claimed more than 3,000 business and consumer customers have so far signed up to Topaz Mobile. "We have seen a phenomenal interest in this trial, and although we have coped with demand well, we would otherwise struggle with the numbers we expect to achieve when it officially launches to the dealer channel,” said Caudle.
