TomTom has reshuffled its management team in its portable navigation division (PND) following its recent acquisition of mapping company Tele Atlas.
TomTom co-founder Corinne Vigreux becomes managing director, Apple veteran Ken McAlpine joins as senior vice president of product design and former Orange brand manager Alex Batchelor enters as executive vice president of marketing.
TomTom chief executive Harold Goddijn said: "By ensuring we have the right level of management within TomTom we will continue to meet our goal to deliver the very best in-car consumer navigation experience for our customers."
Vigreux previously focused on TomTom’s global sales strategy and overseas expansion. She was in charge of product management and partner and retail relations. She assumes charge of TomTom’s retail business.
McAlpine was previously director of engineering at the Apple head office in California where he assisted in the development of products such as the iPhone, MacMini and AppleTV. He will be involved in product design and usability in the PND division.
Batchelor has 20 year’ marketing and international brand management experience at brands such as Orange and Unilever. He is to be responsible for managing TomTom’s brand internationally.
