Former Fone Logistics sales director Duncan Barley has opened a new B2B dealership called EBS Mobile Phones based near Sunderland.
Northampton airtime distributor EBS has a stake in the new venture.
Joined by former Fone Logistics colleagues Siobhan Hanratty, Michelle Murray and Louise Mark, Barley has returned from six months gardening leave to launch the new dealership, which will target SOHO customers of one to 10 handsets.
It is looking to attract 3,000 customers in the next six months.
Two extra staff members will be added by the end of August.
Barley said there was a large amount of SOHO businesses which used prepay phones that EBS would look to convert to contract. EBS will also be able to offer fixed line and data. It is connecting all five networks.
Barley Said: "The North East has a shortage of communication solution providers in the SOHO and SME market place. We have invested in a state-of-the-art contact management system, which includes decision makers’ names, networks, handset numbers and upgrade dates.
“Customer service will include quarterly tariff analysis, loan handsets including Blackberry and HTC devices. Our aim is to be the North East’s number one, guiding local SMEs through the voice and data evolution."
