Phones 4U is offering customers who shop via its webstore £30 free credit for mobile dating.
The retailer has teamed up with Bedford-based 3G Dating Agency to offer its web customers £30 credit for the dating service when they sign a new contract or upgrade. They can spend the credit on texting and video calling other members of the 3G Dating Agency service.
Customers also receive the ‘Phones 4U Guide To Dating’, said the 3G Dating Agency.
A 3G dating agency spokesman said: "Phones 4U contacted us because a lot of its customers were upset by dating services they used and were suffering from ‘bill shock’ when they received a high bill. They won’t get that problem with us as it’s free to browse.
"Our service is very safe. We use video validation which eliminates safety risks by checking members’ identities through a video call to make sure no one is chatting to under 18s and people are who they say they are."
3G Dating Agency was founded in 2003 as a way to date through video calling. The company is to make an appearance on the BBC series Dragon’s Den on Monday, making it the first mobile content company to appear on the show.
The service is free to join and browse, and charges 50p to send a text to another member.
