UK retailers will avoid delays in shippping Sony Ericsson’s first Windows Mobile phone, the Xperia X1 (pictured), and take stock of the device in the next month.
Sony Ericssson has experienced huge stock shortages of its long-awaited Xperia X1 handset, but the UK, along with Germany and the USA, should be catered to during Q4. Other markets will have to wait until 2009 for shipments to reach them.
Sony Ericsson originally announced the smartphone, produced by Taiwanese manufacturer HTC, in February, and after set backs in production had slated its launch for Q4 across all markets.
A Sony Ericsson UK spokesman said: “We have just booked our advertising, so I would be very surprised if that [delays to UK shipments] was the case."
