O2 will not range Nokia’s flagship N96 phone, which started to ship to retailers last week.

O2, sole network distributor of Apple’s iPhone handsets, said the move to blank the N96 was a "portfolio decision".

It is a blow to Nokia, which is pitching the N96 at the same market as the iPhone attracts.

Its predecessor, the N95, sold over one million units in the UK last year, Mobile News understands.
