International calling MVNO Vectone Mobile has hired former Blyk marketing executive Jon Fisher to head its £17.5 million European rollout.
London-based Vectone Mobile already operates in the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Austria, and will soon launch in Spain.
It is aiming to become a pan-European MVNO and has its eye on the increasingly crowded UK market. However, it said it couldn’t specify a date.
Vectone Mobile runs off Vodafone in the Netherlands, Mobilkom in Austria, Sonofone in Denmark, and Telenor in Norway and Sweden.
Fisher, pictured, said: “I’m delighted to join Vectone to build marketing services that will ensure the Vectone Group continues to go from strength to strength in the ethnic MVNO segment and with new products.
“The company is preparing for new challenges, with product development led by the requirements of increasingly digital European consumers.”
Vectone Mobile operations director Dan Wilson said: “We’re constantly innovating our products and service and aim to be a truly disruptive force in the mobile and digital space.”
