LG has increased its mobile sales by 29.9 per cent in the third quarter of the year compared with the previous quarter.
Mobile sales were posted at $3.59 billion in the three months ending September, while handset business was up 40.8 per cent compared with the same quarter last year.
Shipment of handsets rose five per cent to 23 million year-on year but declined 17 per cent from the second quarter as a result of slow sales in India and emerging markets.
LG said net profit from handsets was at 11.5 per cent due to the growth of high end handsets such as the Secret and Viewty.
The manufacturer expects to ship 100 million units by the end of the year and will be unveiling the Renoir 8 megapixel camera (pictured) phone and the Cookie in the next quarter.
