Orange’s contract base has exceeded six million in the UK for the first time, with more than 160,00 contract customer additions in Q3.
Its growth in contract sales is up 11 per cent year-on-year, and its contract base now represents 38 per cent of its total base, up three per cent. It has added one million contract customers in the past 18 months, with much of its net additions this year coming from its SIM-only and low-entry £15 tariffs.
Its total base incrreased 2.7 per cent year-on-year, to 15.82 million, of which 6.013 million customers are signed to contract and 9.802 million are on prepay.
Average revenue per user (ARPU) was up 4.6 per cent for the period, compared with Q3 2007 – customers are spending, on average, £12 per year more than 12 months ago. Orange said data revenues now comprise almost 25 per cent of ARPU.
Revenues for the year to date are €4.3 million, up 5.9 per cent on the same period last year.
