Motorola UK vice president of sales and services Jim Michel has declined a revised UK role, following a restructure of Motorola’s regional units, Mobile News understands.
Motorola has looked to reduce the autonomy of regional business units, including the UK, as it attempts to manage and rein in Q3 global losses of £530 million.
Sources claim Michel was consulted to take on a reduced remit, but declined.
Both Michel and Motorola were unavailable for comment.
Motorola’s UK network, retail and distribution customers will be informed of Michel’s departure, and the identity of his successor, in the next few days.
