The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) has formed a UK council as new member companies join the association.
Seven new member companies have joined the MMA following the launch of the UK council, which will be chaired by Sponge’s Alex Meisl (pictured left) and Ogilvy Group’s Scott Seaborn (right).
According to the MMA, the council will lead the establishment of guidelines and best practices as well as educate and evangelise the mobile channel in the UK.
“Local initiatives are instrumental to the growth and development of the mobile marketing industry and will help guide education, awareness and consistency across all parts of the ecosystem,” said MMA european managing director Paul Berney.
“We look forward to working with UK members to build the momentum and industry spend in their market.”
The MMA now totals 56 member companies and the UK council joins other local councils including ones in Spain, Ireland, Germany and Austria.
