Orange is introducing the VAT cut two days early to encourage customers not to stay away the weekend before the cuts begin.
VAT in Orange retail stores will be charged at 15 per cent from Saturday (November 29) with prices rounded down to the nearest 50p.
“This is great for our customers, as they don’t need to wait until next week to get the benefit of the 2.5 per cent VAT reduction,” said Orange director of retail Sian Doyle. “This weekend is a very important trading weekend for Orange Retail, as it is the last pay cheque before Christmas so customers will want to do their Christmas shopping now.”
According to Orange the cut in VAT will be passed on the other areas of the Orange Business as soon as possible.
