Nokia has today unveiled the N97 Smartphone at the 2008 Nokia World event in Barcelona
The handset, which features a touchscreen and qwerty keypad, was unveiled by Nokia’s executive vice president Anssi Vanjoki who claimed the device will connect the real world with the virtual world.
Features include a new application ‘Point and Find’ which provides information on a photo taken using the 5 megapixel camera, combining GPS location and information from the internet. Examples included taking a picture of a cinema, which provides information on admission prices, show times, trailers and reviews.
Vanjoki said: “This mobile computer will play a big part in what we want to do.
“We are combing the real and virtual to create a better life.
“The future is really exciting, and nokia will continue connecting people in newer and better ways. “
The handset will be available during the first half of 2009, and cost €550 (£470).
