O2 has slashed the prices of its top contract handsets, and reintroduced price matching in store.
O2 increased many of its top handsets, including the N95 8GB, Samsung Tocco and the Sony Ericsson C902 (pictured) to its maximum £75 per month tariff back in August in a bid to decrease subsidies, following the launch of the 3G iPhone.
The Sony Ericsson C902 and Samsung Tocco were later reduced to £35 per month in September. Last week, the Nokia N95 8GB went down to £35 per month also. The recently-launched Nokia N96 was also reduced from £75 per month to £45 per month.
Staff have also been given authorisation to price-match any handset on a new contract to other networks’ and retailers’ deals, provided stock is immediately available and proof of the competitor deal is provided.
Price matching is not available for upgrading customers.
