Vodafone is to add 18 news stores to its retail estate before Christmas, and a further 32 by the end of March next year.
It has confirmed sites for the first 18 stores. It will open new shops on Grainger Street in Newcastle, and New George Street in Plymouth. It will also open smaller shops in market towns Skegness, Chorley, Yate, Wells, Trowbridge, North Allerton and Hove.
Five more sites will be added within Southeast England and greater London. The locations are Eltham, Waltom-on-Thames, Wimbledon Village, Bromley and Crydon.
The 18 confirmed stores will add 90 jobs to the economy, with five full-time advisor positions in each branch typically.
The store additions will bring Vodafone’s total store count to 365.
Director of sales Tom Devine said: “Our commitment to be accessible to customers and be there to offer help and advice when and where they need it remains strong.
“Around 70 per cent of the managers who will be running these stores are those who have worked their way from trainee to assistant manager. I’m delighted that we are able to give these talented managers a new store, new customers and a new team to grow, and that we can help them on the career ladder.
“By giving these people opportunities to move on to bigger challenges we are also creating the chance for many more people to progress.”
