More than 50,000 people pre-registered interest in the new INQ1 device, 3 UK’s dedicated social networking handset, ahead of launch this week.
The INQ1 went on sale this week, free on a contracts of £15 per month. 3 is offering unlimited access to social networking sites Facebook, Skype, Windows Live Messenger for free, as well as general web access, as part of INQ1 contracts.
Customers also get 75 minutes of cross-network calls, unlimited texts, unlimited email and unlimited on-network calls on the £15 deal.
The INQ1 is available on prepay at £79.99, with internet packages available from £5 per month.
INQ, backed by 3 parent Hutchison Whampoa, developed the handset for 3 network operations, starting with 3 UK.
The handset integrates a customer’s Facebook profile into the heart of the device as well as offering services such as Skype calling, Window’s Live Messenger and Last.fm integration.
