Advantage chairman and chief executive Simon Earle (pictured left) has quit the Didcot-based distributor amid rumours it is struggling.

Advantage strenuously denied it was in trouble. Managing director John McFarnon said Advantage is looking to recruit more staff and ramp up business in the New Year.

Sources claimed Advantage’s chief benefactor, Polish billionaire Roman Karkosik (pictured right) has been hit by a downturn in the Polish stock market. McFarnon said Karkosik will still launch mobile network Centrenet in Poland next year, and backs the UK business.

Earle is on gardening leave. He was unavailable for comment.
