O2 has announced a double success after signing SAGA from Vodafone and extending its deal with breakdown recovery company the AA.
SAGA, which offers advice on health, travel, insurance and money exclusively for the over 50s, has more than 2.5 million customers and will port 1,000 connections from Vodafone to O2, which will supply all mobile voice and data services on BlackBerry handsets.
O2’s agreement with the AA has been extended by a further five years. O2 continues to supply its employees with data and voice services on BlackBerry devices until 2013.
O2 head of business sales Ben Dowd (pictured) said: “Not only have we gained a valuable new customer in what is an extremely competitive market but we have won yet another contract from Vodafone.
“This demonstrates that we are going the extra mile to understand our customers and quash the competition.
“The AA is a highly valued customer and we are delighted to be working with them for another five years. This re-sign proves the success of the partnership to date, and we are looking forward to building upon this by further increasing connections and creating new revenue streams.”
