3 Ireland will increase its retail presence by more than 200 outlets after signing a deal with Irish distributor BPI Telecom.
BPI Telecom claims to be the largest mobile and accessories distributor in Ireland, with 2007 revenues of €114 million.
It distributes through a retail network of around 800 outlets including Oyster, DID Electrical, Dunnes Stores, Expert Group and Power City.
It lost its O2 contract during a tender late last year. BPI Telecom managing director Fergus Sweeney (pictured) said: “We will bring 3’s value proposition to consumers and provide a bespoke service to retailers.”
3 Ireland sales director Elaine Carey said: “This significant deal with BPI Telecom will see our high-speed internet services made available to more and more people around the country in some of the country’s most popular stores.”
