20:20 Mobile has appointed former Ingram Micro France deputy managing director Pierre-Yvon Mechali as managing director of its French handset and accessories distribution business.
Meanwhile Tuam Lam has joined as sales director. Lam was with Vivanco France, and transferred to US distributor Strax as part of its purchase of Vivanco’s French accessories division before joining 20:20 France.
Current 20:20 Mobile France managing director Tom Mulvenna will remain with the business, advising on the transition before redeploying elsewhere within the 20:20 Mobile Group.
20:20 Mobile Group chief executive Meinie Oldersma said: “I’m delighted to welcome both Pierre-Yvon and Tuam to 20:20 Mobile where their long experience and expertise will help us further develop our presence in the French market.
Tom Mulvenna leaves a sound infrastructure for them to achieve our ambitious growth plans.”
Mechali said: “20:20 Mobile is the pre-eminent player in the mobile distribution market across Europe so this felt like a natural fit. I’m very much looking forward to working with Meinie and the team.”
Tuam Lam said: “There is exciting potential in the French market and I am looking forward in helping drive that forward and fully confident we will do so.”
