Former Drogheda United player and 2007 Eircom League winner Shane Barrett has been appointed new business development executive at 3 Ireland.

In his role, Barrett will be responsible for driving the company’s growing customer base particularly within the SME sector. Barrett previously worked at Eircom as a business development manager, working across their key accounts throughout the country. He has a strong background in customer acquisition.

3 sales director Elaine Carey said:  “Shane will add considerable weight and expertise to our sales force, bringing a wealth of experience to the team. 3 is firmly the network of choice for business customers looking to save on their mobile and broadband bills without compromising quality. We’re delighted to welcome Shane to 3 and we look forward to the team’s continued success in delivering great value to Ireland’s business community.”

Barrett added: “I am excited to become part of such a thriving company with a huge amount of potential for further growth.”
3, which entered the SME business market about a year ago, claims its business sharer price plans offer savings of around 30 per cent compared to rival networks.
