O2 card fraud crack down

O2 stores have introduced tighter security measures after being hit by a spate of card fraud through December and January, largely related to iPhone sales.

From now, every debit/credit card payment over £50 requires further ID – either another bank card or proof of address.

If customers are unable to meet the extra criteria, they are being advised now to draw cash to pay.

Mobile News last week reported a jump in thefts of Apple 3G iPhones from display units in London stores.
