Samsung said at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona it is expanding its nascent Mobile Innovator developer programme to support Java and Windows Mobile platforms.
It has also opened a new application store, the Samsung Applications Store, to distribute mobile content to Samsung handsets. Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile developers will be the first to take advantage of the store.
Samsung Mobile Innovator global relations manager Sanj Matharu said: “Samsung Mobile Innovator provides not only technical support for application developers, but commercial opportunities as well.
“We’re looking forward to working with a broader global developer community this year, to help them to make the most of the new sales opportunities that we’re creating through the new developments on Samsung Mobile Innovator.”
