MWC: Samsung targets growth

Samsung has signalled its intent to be the fastest growing company in the mobile industry with the release of further touchscreen devices.

According to Samsung, new releases such as the Tocco Ultra Edition, Omnia HD and Beat edition handsets are a central part of its strategy to continue to grow, while new devices such the eco-conscious Blue Earth handset will allow it to move into new areas.

“This year we are proud to offer holistic mobile experiences through a wide-ranging choice of full-touch handsets and technological solutions to suit every lifestyle,” said Samsung Mobile executive vice president JK Shin.

“Thanks to our strong product leadership, we have enjoyed great success in 2008, becoming the solid leader in the mobile industry. Despite the current economic climate, our ambitions remain steadfast in 2009, as we continue to pioneer with a collection of innovative new products and technologies.”

Samsung has also demonstrated services and software such as Samsung Music and the Samsung Application store as it looks to strengthen its open operating system strategy and products.
