Sony Ericsson has announced two handsets and a new brand called Entertainment Unlimited at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Idou (pictured left) is the concept name for Sony Ericsson’s first full touchscreen device, which will feature a 12.1 megapixel camera and run on a Symbian Foundation operating system.
The device is scheduled for release in the second half of 2009 with more details to be released “before the start of the summer”.
This device will be released under Sony Ericsson’s new Entertainment Unlimited brand which it said will to “unite and broaden entertainment experiences”.
“Entertainment Unlimited lets us reinforce our position as the communication entertainment brand,” said Sony Ericsson head of global marketing Lennard Hoornik.
“Everything that we have done to date has brought us to this point.”
Sony Ericsson also announced the release of the latest Walkman handset, the W995 (pictured right). Optimised for video, the handset includes Media Go, allowing the handset to play most media formats.
