Orange UK has announced a strong set of result for its 2008 financial year, which includes a 350,000 increase in customers year on year.
Orange increased its customer base to 15.995 million, which includes 6.173 million on contract, with yearly ARPU up by £7 to £272.
Orange also announced an increase in broadband customers, which now stands at 1.18 million, including 180,000 using mobile dongles.
Data usage increased by 14 per cent year on year, and now account for 24 percent of Orange revenues. Overall revenues increased 6.3 percent year on year, from £4.7 billion to £5. billion.
France Telecom chairman and chief executive officer Didier Lombard said: “The group performed well in 2008. We now have more than 182 million customers worldwide, 70 per cent of whom are with the Orange brand.
“These results show that the group is well armed to face an economic environment that has been particularly unsettled.
“All the group’s businesses contributed to achieving one of our highest levels of growth.”
