Orange has today launched a fixed line broadband trial trial offering selected customers download speeds of up to 20 Mbps.
The trial, which begins immediately, is available to a selection of Orange customers already using its fixed line broadband, and will be monitored before being made available to all Orange customers.
Orange, which has more than one million fixed broadband customers in the UK, claims download speeds will vary depending on the quality of the phone line, and the distance from the Orange exchange.
Orange director of broadband and home Asif Aziz said: “This trial is an important step in enabling us to offer up to 20 Mbps home broadband to consumers across our network.
“It is also testament to our ongoing commitment to evolve our fixed broadband service and ensure we offer customers a truly reliable user experience.
“The move follows the largest set of improvements to the company’s fixed line broadband service to date.”
