Advantage Cellular has instructed staff to stay away from its Didcot headquarters until its Polish billionaire owner Roman Karkosik (pictured right) rules on its future this week.
Karkosik has frozen Advantage’s bank accounts, claimed sources close to the situation.
Staff told Mobile News they were instructed on Thursday (March 12) not to come into work Friday or Monday, unti a delegation from Poland visits Tuesday (March 17) to rule on its future.
Staff claim not to have been paid for February, due the end of the month.
Several dealers and distributors informed Mobile News on Friday they were owed money, and that Advantage had missed payments.
Advantage was unavailable for comment. Managing director John McFarnon failed to respond to enquiries.
Founder Simon Earle (pictured left) and sales director Frank Masson both quit the business in recent months, and marketing director Graham Jelfs moved to head up Hyundai’s UK sales operation, run out of the same premises as Advantage.
