T-Mobile has launched ‘Instant Email’, a new way for customers to access email direct from their mobile.
Customers can now access email from their personal accounts for £3.50 a month. They can also trial the service free of charge for a month and then move to a rolling monthly plan, without a long-term contract.
Instant Email allows users to be immediately alerted when new emails arrive in their inbox, with no need to log onto the internet. It provides access for up to five email accounts.
The service is initially available on a selection of Nokia handsets, with more compatible phones to be announced soon. It can also back up and update phone numbers, email addresses and calendar to the phone.
T-Mobile head of internet and entertainment Richard Warmsley said: “Mobile email is nothing new for business customers, but we think everyone should have easy access to their inbox on the phone of their choice.
“For only £3.50 a month Instant Email allows people to see emails as they arrive without the hassle of logging on or going online.”
The £3.50 monthly fee covers all email and associated attachments, with no extra charges if a customer exceeds the fair use policy.
