Genesis Communications has acquired Thus Mobile from Cable&Wireless for an undisclosed sum.
Genesis claimed the deal effectively doubles Genesis’ annual revenues to around £70 million, and makes it the UK’s largest independent mobile virtual service provider with 23,000 business customers.
“This transaction doubles the size of the mobile voice and data customer base managed by Genesis,” said Genesis director Piers Linney.
“It also allows us to offer Thus Mobile customers a broader portfolio of products and services in response to a rapidly changing market.
“We believe that business customers no longer want voice and data services in isolation. Instead, these need to be offered alongside hosted IT services as a converged solution, helping businesses increase efficiencies and revenues.”
The purchase of Thus Mobile comes three weeks after Genesis’ acquisition of Increase CRM, a hosted Microsoft Dynamics CRM provider.
Genesis said the Increase CRM acquisition strengthens its hosted services portfolio and support its launch of a mobile customer relationship management (CRM) tool to enable customers to access data through mobile devices.
Linney said: “Genesis is focused on a leading suite of mobile and hosted IT solutions for SMEs in the UK.
“The acquisition lets us become a UK market leader and extends our ability to support customers and deliver value added services as customers increasingly embrace the power of Microsoft Dynamics.”
