Jeewoth leaves Toshiba

Toshiba Mobile UK and Ireland country manager Med Jeewoth is leaving the company to spend more time with his family.

Jeewoth has been at Toshiba for nearly two-and-a-half years. He’s overseen its re-entry into the UK mobile market and was at the helm when the company secured a deal with Data Select for it to sell Toshiba’s handsets and accessories among its dealer and retail base last April.

He was also behind striking an operator and network deal for its recently announced TG01 handset, although he declined to name who that is.

Jeewoth said: “It’s been a real challenge and one I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I’ve worked extremely hard to put Toshiba on the mobile map in the UK and two years of hard work has paid off with the deals that have been put together for the TG01, which I’m confident will be a real success.”

Jeewoth added that he may return to the mobile industry after his break. There are no immediate plans to replace him.
