Samsung UK and Ireland general manager for sales Jon French has left the company to become HTC UK and Ireland country manager.
HTC confirmed that French would be joining the company soon to head up its UK and Ireland division, but did not give an official start date.
The move follows HTC’s continued move into the consumer space as it looks to focus on handsets such as the Touch Diamond2 and Google Android based devices.
French had been with Samsung for six years and was only promoted to his latest position in May last year.
French succeeds Paul Ghent who moved to Palm in January to become its sales vice president.
