Online mobile phone recycler is exhibiting at The Gadget Show Live at Birmingham NEC from April 17 to 19.

It will refund visitors’ entrance fees if they bring along five old mobile phone for recycling.

Visitors can also bring their old mobiles to the stand for evaluation and on the spot payment of up to £300. sales and marketing director Simon Walsh (pictured) said: “At we provide an efficient route for getting rid of old phones and at the same time reward users. So far we have paid out over £2 million to our web site visitors and the show gives people a great opportunity to walk away with cash in their pocket.” claims it recycles “thousands” of handsets every month. They are then refurbished and resold in developing nations.

Lancaster-based parent company SHP has also announced that it has paid more than £2.5 million to charities for collecting and recycling old handsets. It has partnered with 10 new charities this year and operates recycling campaigns with 160 charities.

Said Walsh: “Our new website for charities automatically offers 20 per cent from the value of each phone received to charities. It also provides the recycler with further options to donate the full value of the phone or take some payment themselves.”
