P4U directors in role changes

Phones 4U retail director John Welsh (pictured) and managing director of direct Nick Fisher are to take on new roles within the business by June.

Welsh will take on the newly created role of retail development director while Fisher takes the sales director for the distribution business role in charge of sales across all channels.

Welsh will focus on the implementation of new store formats, new retail models and new categories. He will report directly to group chief executive Tim Whiting. Fisher will report to managing director Brendan Sweeney.
Sweeney said: “Following five successful years leading our retail estate, John Welsh is taking on the newly created role.
“Nick Fisher’s new role will allow us to become a better integrated, multi channel business.

“These changes will improve coordination and consistency across all channels. All of these moves are designed to ensure we have the optimal structure in place to win in the current market place whilst at the same time ensuring we have dedicated focus on bringing to life our vision of becoming the number one destination for the youth market in mobile communication and entertainment solutions.”
