Lebara creates 200 jobs


Ethnic MVNO Lebara has created 200 new jobs, 55 of which are at its UK-based customer services centre.

It has recruited senior staff in the UK including Russell Atkinson in April who joined as managing director. His previous role was chief executive for prepaid card company credEcard.
James Condon also joined the company as chief marketing officer from Tesco where he was brand communication and trade planning director.

Lebara has also launched a multi-lingual customer services centre based in Tower Hill, London where customer services representatives can answer calls in one in 12 languages.

Lebara chief executive Yoganathan Ratheesan (pictured) said: “We’re extremely pleased to be in the position where we are growing and recruiting staff during such a difficult economic time. This is due to the outstanding success of our award-winning Pay-As-You-Go SIM product.
