Vodafone has today confirmed up to 15 staff at Yes Telecom will be made redundant following the conclusion of its business review.
The announcement to staff was made today at Vodafone-owned Yes Telecom’s Manchester offices. Mobile News understands Vodafone corporate sales manager Amanda Baker is among a number of Vodafone HR staff present in a meeting.
Vodafone refused to discuss the names of staff members and positions which are affected.
Mobile News also understands all Yes business partner executives are currently in an all day meeting, but it is yet to be confirmed if the meeting is related to the redundancies.
A Vodafone spokesperson said: “Vodafone and Yes have recently undertaken a comprehensive review of the Yes business.
“As a result, Yes is making some changes to its structure so that it can manage the challenges of the current trading environment while continuing to provide its customers and partners with the best possible service. We anticipate that 15 people are likely to leave the business.”
The announcement brings the number of Yes staff axed to 19 since February, following the departures of former Yes directors Simon Howitt, Ray Bell, Kevan Wakerley and more recently its head of distribution Tanny Price.
