Virgin Media has refreshed its Virgin Mobile contract tariffs to launch an £18, 18-month tariff which it claims is now the best rate in the market by £2 a month.
Its £18, 18-month tariff offers 250 minutes and unlimited texts, or 150 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited data with selected handsets.
According to its own comparison table, its nearest competitors are Orange and 3, offering 200 minutes and unlimited texts for £20 a month on an 18-month contract with handset.
A new £25 tariff is also being launched, with 500 minutes, unlimited texts and web use.
Virgin Media customers with a broadband, TV or landline service will also benefit from inclusive Virgin to Virgin calls when they choose any 18-month or SIM-only tariff.
Virgin Mobile managing director Graeme Oxby said: “Our new tariffs set the standard for pay monthly contracts. We’re offering consumers outstanding value and much greater choice, with hundreds of minutes, countless texts and endless web browsing included in their monthly package.
“Mobile from Virgin Media offers a compelling alternative to more expensive, long term contracts and we’re bringing all the benefits of the UK’s leading entertainment and communications company right into the customers’ pocket.”
The tariff refresh follows the launch of Virgin’s £8.50 tariff, making it the first network to offer a sub-£9 tariff.
