Vodafone is to re-engage with Carphone Warehouse for new contract connections.
It said last week its decision in 2006 to sack Carphone for new contract connections and put new contract business exclusively through rival Phones 4U on the high street had backfired.
Vodafone UK chief executive Guy Laurence told reporters last week the decision, taken by his predecessor Nick Read, had not gone as planned.
“It was a decision we took some time ago in the hope that it would provide some kind of changes in the overall distribution pattern in the UK,” said Laurence.
“That did not happen. Obviously it is something that we reconsider on a regular basis.”
Vodafone is planning to re-open negotiations with Carphone in the next few weeks in an effort to get its new contract offering back into the retailer’s 820 UK stores.
